Bhadrachalam Ramdas (17 century)



He lived in Nelkondapalla in Golkonda district of Andhra Pradesh. His name was Gopanna Garu. He was a great devotee of Rama and composed many songs praising the Lord. People started calling him Ramdas which means servant of Ram. He was the member of an influential family and he became the thahaseeldar of Bhadrachalam district. He was an efficient officer. The Nawab of Golkonda was an admirer of Ramdas.
