Oh sovereign of the world! and spouse of SIVA, who destroyed KAMADEVA, Oh mother!, protect me always.
You are decorated with fresh and flawless garlands. Your eyes are like fresh lotuses. You reside on the banks of river VAHINI.
Oh! Daughter of the mountain king, destroyer of the demons CANDA and MUNDA, your hands shine with the trident. you are beauty personified and your forehead shines with the TILAKA. You are full of compassion and are the saviour of the good. Your feet are beautiful like the tender leaves of the KALPAKA tree.
You show the power of your hands against MAHISHASURA and other demons. You are worshipped by those devoid of ego. Your teeth conquer the beauty of jasmine buds. Your lips resemble the red hibiscus. Your face is like the moon. You are like the soft-blowing MALAYA breeze. Please sport in my heart.
You are most sacred. You are the sister of PADMANABHA. Your tresses are black. You ride on the lioness. You destroy the affliction of your devotees. You are GAURI-the fair one. You are worshipped by DEVAs lead by INDRA. Oh! One who removes the burden of sins, kindly be compassionate to me.
